International Women's Day with NADINE MERABI
Empowered women, empower women.
Last week we hosted our International Women's Day event at our flagship store in London for our empowered MERABI community. In honour of this year's campaign theme 'Accelerate Action', we celebrated the women making waves in business, fashion, sports, floristry and beyond.
We were honoured to be joined by two incredible women who embody the spirit of this theme, Olympic medallist Katarina Johnson-Thompson and business innovator & floral visionary Romy St Clair, who both hosted talks with our founder Nadine Merabi on sporting, floristry and fashion entrepreneurship.
Katarina Johnson-Thompson spoke to the MERABI community about her career idol: "Denise Lewis has inspired me most throughout my career. She is like my second mum—she has been there for me through thick and thin. Denise has all the confidence in the world, and she has passed some of that confidence on to me when I’ve needed it most. She is my guardian angel."
“It is amazing to make something you love and our passionate about into a career, and live life off it.”
Founder Nadine Merabi offered this advice:"If you don’t believe in yourself, who else is going to believe in you?"
At the event we introduced our charity brand partner, Wonder Foundation - a women-led charity dedicated to transforming the lives of women, girls and their communities through quality education.
Olivia, co-founder of Wonder Foundation spoke ‘in this room full of amazing and very sparkly women, it's a chance to get to know each other and be that woman that mention each other's name in a room full of opportunities - and to be the woman that creates opportunities for other people.”
We loved bringing together and celebrating women from every corner with our incredible MERABI community, all dress in their MERABI outfits of choice.
We toasted with bubbles, dressed in MERABI and celebrated the mesmerising community of women we are immensely lucky to be a part of. The event was really well received from our community with attendees sharing “you can tell MERABI lives and breathes women, from the way that the clothes fit and make you feel to the incredible community you have built, empowerment shines through.”
